How to use the app
A walkthrough of the main features—with simulated screens so you can see what to expect on phone and tablet. This is a logging tool, not legal advice; always follow your own court order and local rules.
1. Sign up and start a trial
Open Sign up, create an account with email and password, and choose monthly or yearly. You'll complete Stripe checkout to start a 7-day free trial (a payment method is required so billing can continue after the trial if you keep the plan).
- Enter email and password.
- Pick a plan and continue to checkout.
- After success, open the app and stay signed in on each device.
2. Log a trip on your phone
Use the app home on your phone for day-to-day driving. Each trip has a depart and an arrive.
- Choose From and To (saved places or search).
- Confirm depart time and whole-mile odometer, then start.
- When you arrive, confirm time and odometer, pick a trip reason, and tap Arrive.
Reasons are required for a typical Texas-style log (date, time, destination, and purpose). The mock below shows depart; arrive looks like this next step:
3. Saved locations and default reasons
Under Account → Manage locations, save places you use often. Each place can have a default trip reason so arrive fills it in automatically.
- Home is created for you and always defaults to Going home.
- Changing the reason on a single trip does notchange that place's default (one-off trips stay one-off).
4. Manage reasons
Account → Manage reasons (also linked as “Add new reason…” from the reason dropdown). New accounts get a starter list (work, shopping, medical, Going home, Other, and more). Add your own anytime. Othercannot be deleted—it's the fallback when nothing else is chosen.
5. View Logs and edit
Open View Logs (best on a tablet) to see trips by day. Each row shows times, miles, and reason. Tap a trip to edit places, times, odometer, or reason. Edits to reason update that trip only.
6. Export PDF / CSV
From View Logs or the account menu, export a PDF for an officer (opens in the browser) or CSV for your records. Columns include date, places, reason, times, and odometer.
Offline / traffic stop: while online, open View Logs once and wait for “Synced …”. Later you can open the installed app offline, view that copy, and export PDF. You cannot enter new trips offline yet.
7. Billing
Account → Billing shows trial or active status. Use Manage subscription to open the Stripe customer portal to cancel, change plan, or update payment method.
